I just purchased half-life and installed it on my system but when I goto play the game I get an error that I need to install directx 6 or above and I have DX 7. I ran dxdiag and get no error messages. Any suggestions?

have you patched the game yet? If not patch it http://www.3dfiles.com/patches/halflife.shtml and if still have same prob then reinstall dx7a

Don't forget the Counter Strike addon, it brings a whole new dimension to half life.

Play the single player game through first though or you'll never want to play it again after you've tried CS. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif
