i just wanna cheat.. i hate it when others do it to me.. and for once id like to be on the other side of the fence.. ive never used an aim bot before so i have no idea where to go and look for them.. thx for any help u ppl can give me.. cheers..

Do unto others as they do unto you? I don't like it either but I'm not going to stoop to that level--- I don't see the enjoyment of wining by cheating. I don't think you're gonna find what you want here.

I'm just into UT online and I really hope there aren't a lot of people out there using these. I'm getting my *deleted* kicked, but hopefully by people who can really play.

Yeah, that's why i wanted to make my own server and only have people I know play. I've only played online a few times, but I know some people are cheatin'. Those aim bots are so freakin' cheap. :/ That's also why I don't play Starcraft on Battle.net anymore either, too many people use the map hacks :/ Sigh, WHAT'S THE POINT PEOPLE?!?! You ruin the fun for everyone else!!!

First of all, even if I had a bot for you to cheat with I'd never give it to you. Last thing we need is MORE skilless scum using bots.

And to ALL of you: You best be 100% positive someone is using a bot before you go accusing people of cheating. Just because you get sniped with a head shot 10 times in a row does NOT mean the other person is cheating. It usually means your opponent is 10 times better than you. Yeah it can be frustrating, but you're better off sucking it up & biting your tounge than you are by looking a fool & making the amature mistake of calling a skillful player a bot.

OTOH, if you KNOW he's a bot. Then (if you're like me) you begin the onslaught of annoying and utterly ENDLESS harassment. If possible in UT, record a demo of his actions and show the server admin. If they care, and see the proof, they will ban him and/or his IP#.

If he totally ignores your harrasment, then get the other players to join you. Team up on him. Or everybody go into observe mode and don't play. Or my favorite, get everyone to change their name to the name of the cheater.

Don't know if you can do this in UT, but I know in Q2 you can connect multiple times to the same server. I once had six Q2 windows going so I could mess with a cheater I encountered. Whenever he'd change his name, I'd cycle through my windows and also change my name to his. He didn't know what was going on, he thought his bot was screwing up the server or something. *deleted* . hehe

Cheater = moron. You don't wanna be a moron, so why would you want to be a cheater?

How do you know if you're dealing with a cheater? How can you tell?

first off im hardly skilless.. anyways.. u usualy know if yur dealing with bots when yur running around and keep gettin shot byt he same person and then u lok at he score and hes got like 70 kills to the second place guys 15.. im sorry.. NOONE is that good.. most kills ive gotten in a 15 min game was 40 but then againi dont play very much with newbies.. not that i woudnt enjoy it.. usually they quit not too long after the 12 kill.. thx for yru help anyways m8s l8r

oh yeah.. and i dont knwo if anyone cares but my fave thing to do to the map hack users in starcraft is to send over about 50 SUV's then send over marines right after.. i dont care how good they r after they get done hacking away had suv's there men r gettin whacked by marines.. they will still loose.. just kuz they can see wot yur doing doent mean they can stop u.. :-) e-mail me if anyone wants ta play.. its getting tough to find anyone who wants to play anymore.. dont worry if im nto hom my lil brother will b.. and i think hes decent.. although i dotn get the chance to play him much.. webpics@juno.com

i do not know of addresses, but there are pages out there dedicated to distributing cheats for various games. usually a good search engine can get you one. or forums dedicated to the game. see em all the time on the Counter Strike forums. i have a way of dealing with peeps that cheat on my half life server... banid <time> <uniqueid> kick....if they cheat, they get a 0 which is permanent.

Xippy, you'd be surprised at how good a skillful player can be. Especially one with no scocial life and all they live for is playing that game.

Can you do a follow or chase-cam in UT? If so, that's how you'd identify a cheater. If you can see from their eyes, it *usually* doesn't take too long to tell if a bot is aiming or not. In Quake it's all to obvious who is a bot using chase-cam.

yea i agree i hate cheaters..i play urban ops by red storm and me and my clan are accused of cheating all the time ...but none of use do we just use very good team work...we can normally owen any sever we play on even if cheaters are there...it just sucks 2 be called a cheater when your not..so like the other post said dont call it unless you know it and can prove it....we have even been banned from certin severs just becouse we kicked so much ****...its lame but some people just cant take the fact that others are better than them

myself and most of my Counter Strike clan gets accused of cheating all the time. we are not the best by a long shot, but when we are on we are hot. even our highest pingers get accused of cheating. we got one guy that is a sniper and usually pings around 300. He is one hell of a good sniper too. He can usually get me and i ping around 50...one of our best players pings right about 220 most of the time an I have seen him go 65 kills in 25 minutes.

It it really really frustrating to be accused of cheating. Especially when you're the type of person (I know I can't be the only one) that would NEVER cheat, under any circumstances. I'd much rather be embarrassed and out-skilled 500 frags to 1 than resort to cheating. A frag obtained by cheating is completely worthless.

But dealing with those that might accuse you of being a cheater is more frustrating than dealing with an actual cheater.

Ya see, when you're up against a cheater you know you're dealing with a rude, butthead that has no regard for rules or fairplay or how the others feel. So whatever actions you take against him, it's easy to justify.

But when you're accused of cheating by people who just don't know the difference, you can't just write'em off as butthead because often they are not. However depending on how thick-headed they are, there is usually a 3 step process that occurs after the point of being accused of using a bot:

1 Be courteous, and inform them that you are indeed NOT using a bot. You just happen to be "on your mark" today, that's all.
...and if they persist...
2 Suggest that they go into chase mode and watch you and see for themselves you are not a bot. Remind them that calling someone a bot is a serious accusation. If we were face-to-face, they'd definitely be "fightin' words".
...and if they persist...
3 Well, at this point there's nothing left to do but just let the truth spill out. All feeling aside, tell it like it is: "Dude, you just *deleted*. Ok? Ya know, I'm not even all that good. I just appear to be good because you are so pathetically lame. Not only do you lack skillz, but you have no class and the social finesse of a rabid skunk. I'm gonna go find some REAL competition. ... Oh btw, gg."

As a Quake player who is constantly getting stomped, maybe even by cheaters...I feel compelled to make the following point:

You are an anonomyous player (in most cases, hence the "handle"), in a game where you are part of a cartoon. You win no prizes or money, and most of your friends know you can't shoot for snot. Thus when you, Mr. Cartoon character, opt for a little "edge" I'm the guy who's playing experience is lessened. Stay off my quake site and cheat at crossword puzzels, please...

I almost forgot, I have proof that I'm a bot. I didn't even know it. But according to some people if you win by a large margin, then you're a bot. Or if you just edge out a win over someone else that they know is a good player, then of course, you must be bot. Or if you kick **** inspite of your poor ping, then that is proof that you're a bot. Geeez. Lame.

people who tend to say you cheat the most always seem to be at the bottom of the scoreboard. they spend all theri time whining about cheaters and crying that they never have time to play well. one of the top killers in my clan pings 225-325 and i have seen him do 65 kills in 25 minutes in Counter Strike. When I am on a roll hitting 30+ kills in 20 minutes is not hard, plus I make 90% headshots. Fortuneately there are no aim bots that I know of for Half Life yet...

I know this will show my UT knowledge, but I didn't even know there were bots to aim for you (though I would imagine I could find one if I wanted).

I guess after putting about 85 hours into UT, you just have to get better. I remember when I dreamed about having as many kills as deaths. Once I started acheiving that, I worked on wiping out my suicides (they've been a HUGE problem for me) and so I tried to have as many frags as deaths. Once I improved, the goal became to never have less frags than deaths.

Now, I try to keep my deaths below half what my frags are and keep my fph above 150. If I can do that, it's a good game. Of course, I always like playing with at least 10-15 players on the larger standard maps.

I think that's proof that you shouldn't even worry about the bots. Just get in there, practice, and improve yourself. Now I'm mostly limited by my Rage128 video card (I know, I know... I'll drop something else in there some day) and my 56k modem. I can only wonder how good I will be with a sub-100 ping.

And it's all because one time somebody here at SysOpt questioned it's meaning as Young Gay Monkey. lol. Now every time I see it, that's what I think. And try as I might I can't seem to commit it's real meaning to memory.
