Is there such thing as a program that will let me edit a specific segment out of a WAV sound file and create a new WAV with that segment?

Thanks! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Sound Forge will let you cut and paste any part of a wav file....as for a cheaper or free bit of software, I am not sure...but I am sure there are some out there http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Thanks anyway, Chip http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif. Unfortunately their trial version doesn't have a save feature. I hate it when companies put restrictions on the trial. Isn't a 30-day limit enough?

Anyone else?

Ok, after a lot of searching I found an AWESOME little prog called Total Recorder. Suppossedly it can do what I want it to do and much, much more! It can record whatever is playing off your sound card: movies, games, modem noise(!), yourself, etc. You can choose the quality also.

Now, if only I could figure out how to make it do what I want it to.... http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

P.S. - visit www.highcriteria.com (http://www.highcriteria.com) to get it

*UPDATE- Just figured out how to edit a segment! Check it out http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif it's cool

I use Wave Studio that came with my Sound Blaster Live! It works great! you can record sound card input/output and use copy/paste feature for segments of wave files to edit/create new wav files.

I'll be getting a new comp in a month or so with a SB Live so I'll have to check it out. Thanks!
