I've been getting periodic system slowdowns in IE5. The only way to recover is to reboot. I turned off the info pane in Outlook Express per AuraEdge's suggestion and since then I haven't had any problems. Thanks, AuraEdge!
How did you happen to find this "fix".

BWT thanx....hope MS gets thier act together!
Anywas this is how u do it.....
1) Start the comp (duh)
2) Close all systray and taskbar programs u can for best chances of comp not crashing on the opening of OE. (Dont even connect, U dont hafta be connected to open OE)
2) Open it, dont move and pray that it doesnt freeze on open
3) Did it open? if no, groan and yell explitives at your comp and start at step 1 again. If yes, then great..your in... On the top menubar go to View -> Layout..
4) Uncheck Info Bar
Tadaaaa no more OE crashes!
I found this fix..umm I dunno how...I uninstalled it cuz maybe OE4 worked better..but OE4 couldnt port over OE5 emails...so i reinstalled OE5 and my contacts werent in the layout...like they usually were..So i went into layout and checked contacts and figured "hey whats this info panel?". Well i looked at the bottom and I figured it was that search thingy at the bottom...and I didnt need it there, just takin up space. I juts unchecked it...then about 3 days later it hit me...it wasnt crashing anymore! I didnt do any deductive reasoning....all purely by mistake...(wow didnt break something for once....heheh)
