Diablo II & CD Rom read errors

This game reads the install sequence fine & sometimes reads the game but 8 x's out of 10 it won't read the CD to start the game.

Any ideas???? Like all of you I have been dying to play this game for about a year & would love to start. Any help would be appreciated. I have tried all of Blizzards suggestion but have had no luck.

Well i had this problem, i installed the game, run it but when i started the game, it crashed every time, so i blame blizzard, but the problem was my sound card drivers, if you have a Sound Blaster Live! donwload Live ware 3 and the last patch, with that my game works perfect!!

I dont know but maybe its the same problem
and in the next post, put what kind of machine you have and also very important the hardware you have.

if you are wanting to play multiplayer, don't get your hopes up as battle.net is down 25 or so hours a day.

You aren't using a pirated copy of Diablo II are you? My friend tried to burn one and his computer gave him the same error!
