Help!!! I downloaded CS and it won't open

I downloaded the Counter Strike beta 6.1 and It didn't open. All that was there was a icon of a computer with and open box. When I 2x click it it doesn't do anything. It is in the Half Life folder. Please help me, It took me 3 hours to download.

If it took you 3 hours to download it you will not have any fun with it. you will have so much lag it will be like hell so i suggest you get dsl.

now about it wont load try reinstalling half-life and put counter-strike in C:\SIERRA\Half-life\ then try running cs

Hey, do you have half-life intalled? If you do, try to unzip the icon and and do it in your half-life folder. Then you(maybe)can install it. Check it out if your downloaded counterstrike is a full verson.

for Beta 6.1 you need ver. 1016 of HL.
ensure that you updated your Half-Life.

I just redid my hard drive and after I put my Halflife back on I skipped a small update and it wouldnt work. Once installed it all it works better than ever (Win2000).
