My favorite FPS is Half-Life, by far. So anyway, I can't play in my apartment because of the slow connection, my cheap modem, and so on. So I'm usually playing against the Rho-bot or the Jumbot. Until last week. I found out that the computer labs have access to Half-Life, and I quickly joined in, and made that startling revelation. Beating a bot is nothing special, but slaughtering a person is euphoric, because you know you just crushed their spirits http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/biggrin.gif. So even though it's not nearly as difficult as the Jumbot on skill level 4, it's MUCH more fun. Just thought I'd share that with you all.

A big reason I still play Starcraft over battlenet. I just cannot get enough of beating other good players. And losing isn't so bad either, because you learn a new strategy every time to come back and put it to the next schmuk.

Yup, HL is the best, and I ain't too shabby at it. I rarely play over the net' as bottleneck modems don't give me the needed speed to make the game playable. HL bots so far have not impressed me, and programming bots to cheat and use the cheapest weapons (i.e. Jumbot)that was stupid. Another mod for Half-Life that has bots is Action Half-Life Beta 3, it is quite fun an I suggest you grab it at www.fileplanet.com (http://www.fileplanet.com)
On the other hand, you put me on a LAN with a few players, it becomes quite a frag fest and the other players get fed up and quit because they die too often (at least when I'm around http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif )

Oh yeah, I have Action Half-Life, but those bots are pretty dumb. In DM_DOJO, they can't knife-fight worth @#$%, and in any other map, they gat you in the head in two or three shots. I think it's a cool mod, but those bots lack pretty bad.
