**** I’m mad; I failed Novell Service and Support test twice today. I only missed by 24 points the first time so I took it again a few hours later, and failed again! By 27 points.
I am mad because I aced the class with an A, studied like hell the past week, reading and highlighting the book cover to cover several times.
I was expecting a form test (66 questions), and instead it was the adaptive (15 to 25). I absolutely hate the way Novell words the questions and the answers. They find crafty ways to words things and use ambiguous questions.
And they give you a list that says: “You gave incorrect responses to one or more questions from the following objectives:” then a listing of specific chapters or areas in the student manual. You have no idea what questions you were right or wrong on.
$100 a pop, and I scheduled another one tomorrow, what the hell?

You scheduled again? Dude for $100 @, I'd give it a little time. Maybe read some more or something. Lie low for a few days then go back. Might just be one of those brain dead days, you know?

I'm an MCSE trainee, I have taken a couple and I allways get the bare minimum. I don't know. They ask some pretty f*%#ed up question on those test if you ask me. Nothing you ever really need to know. Build up that short term memory bud, just get it done.

It's a good study habit not to highlight more than about 30% of your text. Anything more seems to fry brains. I havent had a chance to take a retarded MCSE test, but I know they're filled with tons of BS. Anyway, keep at it buddy, you can do it.

M, I'm sorry to hear of your trials http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif But as others have stated just kick back for a couple of days and let this pass. You know your stuff and you got off to a bad start just because you went in think about 1 type of test and ended getting "blindsided" due to the adaptive style test. I dont care for the adaptive tests as once you know how they work and you realize the questions are getting easier you actually start to think about what you just did instead of thinking about what you need to be!
blow it off....helpful hint(prevent brain cramp) study for no more than 2-3 hours and night before and no less 6 hours prior to the test. (thus if the test is at 8am no more studing after 2am) and you will do fine!

Keep that chin up! We all know, that you know, the material.

this test is an online form?

It is sort of online in that the testing center downloads it before you take it.
You have to take it at a testing center, with an attendant present in the room the whole time.
BTW, I passed, see http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/006568.html
