1. RC5, I'm clueless as to what that is too

2. Be more specific by what you mean by "burn in procedure"

3. Ahh, I can answer this one. The more posts you get, the higher rank you are. Please don't post posts that have no meaning, post if you can actually help someone or you have a question, like this post. The ranks are Junior member, Member, Senior member, and Ultimate Member. You start as a Junior, and after you get 51 posts (I think)you become a Member, after 501 posts you become a Senior member, and after 1001 posts you become an Ultimate member. Hope that helps.

Edit-> Oh and one more thing, when you are posting, make sure that you post the topic in the right Forum, otherwise the moderator, in this case socogal, will have to move it to the correct forum. I think this belongs in general discussion, but socogal may think differently.

1) RC5 is a program that was made to try and crack the code of RSA Laboratories 64 bit encryption. You can find more information here: http://sysopt.earthweb.com/rc5team.html Since it is doing MASSIVE number crunching, it will thoroughly work your CPU out.

2) When you burn in your CPU, you increase the voltage to the CPU, and run some CPU intensive program (such as RC5). It's supposed to increase the stability of the CPU (similar to breaking in shoes or a car), so you can overclock more, and have a more stable CPU. I have done this on three computers for 24 hours. I think it helped, but I have no reference computer, so who knows.

3) You're a junior member until you hit 30 posts, then you're a member until you hit 500 (?) posts, then you're a senior member until you hit 1000 posts, and finally, you're an ultimate member.

(inhale) Whew! Welcome to Sysopt! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Can't think of a good way to discribe RC5 http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif you can go to Distributed (http://www.distributed.net/)

I also agree this is the best forum that I have ever visited, I have been reading all of your posts for a few weeks now and I have learned alot more than anywhere else. Yesterday I made my first post! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif I hope to live up to the standard that everyone here has set, (in other words, I thought I knew a lot about computers and then I came here, hehe)
I will try to add my $0.02 and learn as I go, thank you all.
