I found HL's final boss tough...and stupid. But for hardest game overall, IMHO...Rouge Spear, atleast in the hardest mode. oblivion 03-07-2000, 10:27 PM LMAO seti, did you find seeing shodan discouraging? I gave up right after that for 3 months and I just finished it,it has to be the hardest I have played ever, and the most intelligently thought out game too, this was on normal setting too. Joel Kleppinger 03-08-2000, 01:02 AM I found Need for Speed High Stakes to be one of the most fun and challenging games. It was easy at first, but then as you moved up, the opposition just got better and better. But playing in Champion mode on the snow tracks while it was snowing was definitely the hardest thing I've ever come across. I beat the game, but after you beat the game, it unlocks the "Ultimate championship mode" which is basically all 3 snow tracks in the snow, backwards and/or mirrored, and at night in Champion mode. I put forth a valiant effort, but there was no way on earth I was ever going to beat that, and I knew it. Still never have.... seti 03-08-2000, 02:52 AM Well I though seeing shodan rocked....but then I went through the rest of that floor...and couldn't get past it. It was just because I couldn't find some stupid key to get through this door....AHH, I'm still frustrated! Yeah, High Stakes gets Haaaaard! I didn't get as far as you Joel. oblivion 03-08-2000, 03:19 AM geez I have high stakes, but I have never installed it yet......I have alot of games like that...... maybe i'll try it out tommorow seti 03-08-2000, 03:37 AM Yeah I was looking around for Theif tonight, I got it with the SBLive. *sniff* Couldn't find it. Oh, that reminds me....Decent 3 (also with the sound card)....that game is tough, just because it's hard to control. Ha, too many axes. Hmmmmm, not sure if it's spelt axes, or axis. It says axes in the control panel thingy so.... Oh, and my newest purchase, USAF....God help you if a MIG gets off a missle at ya. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Oh boy, I need some sleep. bobcat 03-08-2000, 04:52 AM Hardest games ever...ever.ever made where by Psygnosis for the Amiga. Try playing Beast2. You'd have better luck climbing Mt. Everst w/o Oxygen. PC - System Shock 2. PCnerd 03-08-2000, 07:55 AM Driver- it gets harder as it progresses, and it is almost impossible to win it on hard or medium. Cops show up at random and just smash you. But wait till you get to the last missions, and the final "President's run"... Took me some time to beat the game. But I won the game without any cheats. I can't wait till Driver2 comes out. Snuffy! 03-09-2000, 10:36 AM Swat3 on hard. Think of impossible, then multiply that by ten million, and thats how hard it is. If you enter a room, and there is an enemy in it, if you don't shoot him in under half a second, you are dead, simple as that. If there are two, no chance. Also, Quake3 on Nightmare is a joke. Try and fight someone like Klesk, Anarki or the end guy, who are all rail gun experts. In that, it is basically, Spawn - DIE! U-96 03-09-2000, 12:55 PM Rogue Spear on Elite kicks my *** every time. The hostages are paid by terrorists to run in front of you!!! Hidden and Dangerous is also **** hard!! I just cannot get through a campaign without 50% losses! U-96 tapeworm 03-09-2000, 02:20 PM the one game i spent the longest on was myst. it wasn't so much the difficulty but just knowing what to do and when to do it. i loved it. thief gets hard at times, but once you get to know the place, it's not that hard. BadBen 03-10-2000, 01:43 AM The hardest game I ever played was Caesar III. I had it for 1.5 years and I didn't finish it. Stardog 03-10-2000, 12:11 PM I think I'm pretty inept because most games are hard for me. I never would have made it through SS2 without cheating like crazy (must have given myself at least 150 cyber modules beyond what the game gave me) and peeking at the strategy guides a few times. Never would have found the last security card without it. Honestly though, SS2 got kind of lame for the last couple of hours. Rainbow 6 gets really hard in spots too. The mission where you have to clear the bombs out of the dam took me well over 100 tries to finish. The real pisser there was that I got it right the very first time I tried it but crashed while returning to the extraction zone. And I'm only on veteran level. I've currently given up very early into X-Wing Alliance because I can't do the A-Wing recon mission. If I want to that frustrated I'll just go to work and get paid for it. No need to suffer like that on my own time. Jane's F-15 is a bear too because you can't refly missions and I can't get the TV-guided bombs to work. SysOpt.com
