Okay, does anybody like flight sims here? I've just purchased Mig Alley and this game ROCKS The flight model is awesome, ultra realistic (if you want it that way) And the damage models are WAY WAY COOL!.
Every review I've read says that this was the BEST Flight Sim for '99. BUT, the only multi-player for it is MPLAYER and there's never anyone there.
Does anybody have this game and want to set up some matches? If so, let me know.

hmmmm, reading this makes me wanna try out some of the new flight sims. The last time I routinely enjoyed a flight-sim was many years ago, maybe some of you remember Chuck Yeager's Air Combat? hehe, oh man that was a long time ago. Use to play that on my buddy's 386/20mhz (yes, that's 20mhz!).
Eh, I don't know, I think I'd rather burn rubber. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

Flight sim models are extremely realistic nowadays, with incredible lifelike scenery. The genre is kinda declining just a bit, but flightsim buffs are die-hards. I just got Jane's F/A-18, and it is incredible. Trap a 3-wire at sunset, then taxi over to elevator, fold your wings as you go down, then open canopy from inside.
Mig Alley is very good also, and did win FS of the year '99. Don't have it(yet).

Hey Toadman how does Janes F/A-18 run? I've been thinking about getting it but alot of the reviewers say that it runs really slow on (even on high end machines with the graphics turned down) I've got a PIII-450@504 with a Geforce SDR and 256Megs of RAM. I'd hate to buy it and have it chug along at 10FPS or something.

I'm still messing around with Falcon 4.0 myself. But for multiplayer stuff, I love MS Combat Flight Simulator. Something about WWII planes and being limited to guns only and none of this modern "look-down, shoot-down" stuff. Shows who's really got the skills and who don't. Of course, a P-51 can't snap roll quite like an F-16... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif And the F-15 and F-15 are both beautiful aircraft... I could go on and on and on and on and.....

LOL.. nice to know there area a few simmers here. Never understood why WWII on-line games(Warbirds,F/Ace,etc) cost money to play? Your P450 @504 with a geoforce will handle it with ease, Moose! I'm on a K6-3 450 w/128. Have a few video glitches(TNT2), but a patch is in the works. Lots of radio chatter, refueling, formation work, and bringing it aboard the boat of course.Call the ball! Huge spiral manual to read. Jane's knows their stuff. If you like Falcon4, you'll go nuts on this one.... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I love flight simulators, not as much as racing of course. But I prefer MS Flight Simulator2000 to other ones. And I still have an old copy of F/A-18 for Macintosh. The game takes up all the memory my poor old box has and runs at 10 frames per second http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
Yup I'm a big fan too...
I have:
EF2000 (best of its time)
Total Air War (ditto, nice campaigns)
European Air War (100+ aircraft at a time)
Fighters Anthology (loads of cool toys and mods)
MS Combat Sim (nice scenery!)
Israeli Air Force (fantastic scenery)
Fleet Command (nice ships, lots of planes)
MiG Alley (nice atmosphere and gfx)
Falcon4 (I just got this on budget, it blew me away - hardcore stuff - I can fly, but I'll be damned if I can target anything http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif )
FS98 (yawn!)
Fly! (yawn! - but the panels are superb, as is the support)
Sorry, rarely play multiplayer, my ping is usually 600+ http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

I am just about to install Jane's new USAF. No, it's not hardcore like FS2k, or Falcon4, but that's ok, it's pretty. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Can't wait until B-17 comes out.(I believe it is Janes as well). Multi-players crew each position and gun turret with full VOX on Berlin missions, or lone-wolf it in a P-51 escort. Memphis Belle, anyone? http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Hey Toadman, you talking about this B-17? http://b172.sim-arena.com/ If so it is going to ROCK.
Also picking up Janes F/A-18 this week. It's going to be hard to decide what to play for awhile.....Mig Alley, F4, FA-18, and of course can't forget HL,RS, or UT.
Decisions Decisions.......
