Quake 3 Arena -vs- Unreal Tournament?

I know this has been asked before but I cant find the post. Which is better?

I am currently downloading the demo for Unreal Tournament and already have the demo for Q III Arena.

I want to buy one of thaem and havent made a decision.. Anyone of any thoughts on this?

Even though I posted on the other thread, let me reiterate: go with Unreal. You will have basically more "fun" which is the point of games anyway.

Unreal Tourney...cheaper...better....more fun.
Q3's fulla LPB's who hardcore quake, and dont care about having fun, just gettin the frags, so UT should be funner in the aspect that you wont get killed as much too.

My decision has been made. UT it is. hands down. I just played the demo and couldnt put it down. Now I cant wait for the goodies from the full version. Thanks for the input. Thansk for the link Seti.

Yes UT is fun and it doesn't suck up as much resources as Q3. Making the game run on slower systems.

But if you have a good system with some extra ram and hot 3d card go for Q3.

I actually bought Q3A, so I'm a little biased. The thing I foresee with Quake 3 is that there are so many die-hards (like with Doom and previous Quakes) that this game will be played online for many years to come. Id's games are really popular, and the network effect is a powerful thing.

Plus, it's the first 3D-enabled FPS I've played that doesn't give me motion sickness! Maybe it's all the wide open spaces or something...

Well I did it.....
I went and bought Unreal Tournament. My decision is based on the demo's I played. I am a half-life finatic and this game rocks. I am sure that I will be getting Q3 soon. In the mean time I will be a UT killing fool.

I'd reccomend UT, cause the Single Player aspect is much larger, and the bots are better. But graphics are better in quake3 though, but no matter which one u buy, they both kick!
