This is weird...
If i try to log on to WON.net thru Halflife, itll take about 5x as long, and If i press update, nothing will update. However If i uninstall NAV2k, then it works fine. Just disabling autoprotect wont do it..I have to fully uninstall it.

Anyone know why, and how to circumvent this? I NEED my Antivirus

BTW this is on Win2k.

Guess I solved my own problem for once http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I just made autoprotect ignore the Halflife folder and subfolders, since I wasnt sure exactly what file the WOn.net connecter uses.

You play with NAV running in background? I usually turn off ZoneAlarm,ICQ, and NAV to gain max resources. Don't think you can d/l a new TFC map with NAV running.

I totally killed autoprotect..u have to start with it disabled or else HL chokes when it hits WON.
I leave everything on when i play except ICQ and AIM...Zonealarm stays, RC5 stays, n thats about it. When I check out Zonealarms resourses with Win2k task manager while downloading, it shows that its taking up none of my processing resourses. When I had NAV 5.0 and Win98, i could download TFC maps, no prob!
