3d Sound Unheard????

I am using a Sound Blaster Live! X-Gamer and when playing eax enabled games like UT i'm not sure that if what I here sounds like 3d audio from the demos they come with. I have quad cheap altecs. acs-22 for main and acs 90 for rear no sub. I was also experiancing this with my MX300/Half-Life.

Please Help?
