I want to use the original, since I actually bought it!

Hmm..I searched my reg for Half-life...no discernable keys found...this really bites!

Don't know if this will work, but I know you play TFC, which does not require the CD to be in the drive when playing. A WON ID was assigned to you when you first upgraded to TFC and logged on. Maybe you can use this ID with Sierra to verify your product registration (you did register it, right?)
FYI- WON now keeps track of multiple-user CD Keys, and if one pops up on log-in, your IP will be kicked, banned, and logged until a new ID is issued off a fresh CD, so don't "borrow" a CD-key! Or, bite the bullet and go pick up a bargain bin version of HL. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

The CDKey *IS* in the reg, of that I am sure. I cannot find the path of it for you however, because I recently hosed my Windows install by doing some freaky stuff with VMWare.

In fact, I was trying to use VMWare for Linux to run HL. Didn't work http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif.

YES
found it!
it was in my Vinyl Music discman/CD bag thingermajig....That woulda been tragic.

Anyways thanks to those who tryed n helped.
I think its encrypted into the regestry (THINK).

I made careful note to write down all my passwords/cd keys/etc down somewhere safe so I can refer to them If something likethis ever happens again..
