Is the problem BlackDahlia or my computer?

Hi,
I had to uninstall & reinstall several games because my cdrom drive changed letters. But when I tried to reinstall Black Dahlia I got fatal error message when I hit setup.exe. This is the error message: "Unknown illegal operation"
When I clicked on details, this is what came up: <UNKNOWN> caused an exception c0000006H in module <unknown> at 0000:bff8194e.

Then there's another error message that says: Restrictions in effect on system.
My screensavers & antivirus are both disabled. After I uninstalled and got the error message, I found a BDahlia folder on my Cdrive. I deleted that, emptied the trash, and tried again. Same error message.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. I have a pentium 3, 450 running win98.

Hi Again,
update: Tried to reinstall from safe mode and it worked! Only problem is that, now, the game is now very difficult to exit. Escape key doesn't let you escape and it takes several right-clicks (and several, several, several) seconds before the menu comes up. Any suggestions?
