Before I spend time downloading and installing the Baldur's Gate patch ( US version without the add-on game pack ) I'd like to hear from the crowd if they had any good or bad experiences with this patch?

What would happen is that if you got to a plot bit and one one the characters you was supposed to be there isn't (for whatever reason), it would crash. The patch added in a magical understudy (like actors have) who would appear to act as the missing character. Quite an ingenious workaround IMHO. Also, the usual glut of glitches/multiplayer stuff was fixed. Apparently the mission add-on pack add three new areas, new spells and a good old fashioned dungeon crawl. It also (I beleive) contains the patch for the original game. I'm only just starting out, so I cant say how good it is /forum/smile.gif U-96 Axel 11-29-1999, 12:12 PM Thanks guys - Worst part was getting the BlackIsle site open to download the patch. Either their servers were very busy, or they have some major web site problems. Kept getting script errors getting to the patch download URL's, then, could never get a download started off either of the two primary sites - the 3rd download site never worked always timing out/denying access. Tried three different computers in two sites - finally got the patch and mailed it to myself. Haven't had a chance to try it as yet - been playing Alpha Centauri WAY too much lately. Will get back to Baldur's gate when I get my new system early next year., My 266 is simply too slow for it with an AMD chip. SysOpt.com
