Well...on one of my workstations I've got the CL Savage4 32mb card. Quake 3 runs extremely slow at first and that's with all the details dropped quite a bit. I'm running with opengl (the only other option i can see is 'voodoo'. From what I'm reading Quake 3 supports the S3TC in the card. Is there something that I'm not doing? Another driver maybe that I need to download/or patch?

Thanks for you help

Hi Drizzle-
This may not be of much help, but don't feel too bad because I've got a Voodoo3 3000 OC'd to 183MHz with a K62-500 backing it up & I had to drop many of the video settings on the new Q3 demo to get it to run decent.
Maybe when the full version is released, it'll have better driver support (or whatever) to help it run a bit better...

Well, on my second workstation I've got a voodoo3 3000, K6-2 400 (not overclocked), and 128mb ram. And all the video settings are cranked up...and it runs great. I was just a little disappointed in the speed with that card even considering that it is a low end card.

I also have a Voodoo3 3000 agp video card and Quake3 run perferctly with no slow downs all the time. Everything turned on, 1024*768
resolution /forum/smile.gif It even preforms faster than TNT2 ultra cards /forum/smile.gif

Drizzle-
Maybe you need to get the latest drivers from CL. I installed Q3 on one of my other machines (PII 333 with the AGP S4) and it runs like a scalded dog, with all the settings maxed out. At 1024x768 it JUST starts to get a little jerky, but is still easily playable. 800x600 is smooth as silk, and the visual difference is negligible- so I run it at that setting. Go into your system video settings and make sure the video card is running at 125/125MHz. When setting up the game itself, make sure the color is set to 32-bit and the filtering is set to trilinear. Get the new CL drivers and give them a try. Your card should be able to handle Q3 with no problems...
