Ahem... what were you expecting? /forum/smile.gif I am looking for someone who has the new MS Intellimouse with optical tracking. I hear it is a 4-button gamer's delight for sniping and precision movement, with no mouse pad required, and it is illuminated from underneath. Is it worth the 80 bucks like other sites say? Anyone pick one up yet?

5 buttons is even better! I hear it is also quite tall and your wristbone does not rest on the pad or counter, so it may be tougher to "sweep" along. I think there is an intellimouse "classic" version that is flatter, but it only has 2 buttons.

I was playing Action quake with a guy who had one and he said that it was very hard to snip with pecause it shutters when makeing fine movments

that's funny, i thought the whole idea of this mouse was that it's so precise

mattheadfat,
It IS precise, and that is why it shudders... It picks up very slight movements... I know people who use two mouses, ball rollers (not sure what to call em...) and intellimouse. They love the intelli until they go to games, then they switch!

Maybe it needs a PS/2 mouse refresh utility. I have one for my "roller" and can set it up to 200mhz for fluidity (is that a word?)
So it stutters or skips a pixel when lining up on a target?
