Hi guys,
I may have the answer to my earlier post about finding a utility for the pulse activation of the hardware I am trying to regualate at work. My question is:

How do I find out the necessary info to write a program to control voltages on a specific pin? I need to know the memory address and I/O addressing. Any info that might be needed in writing a specific DOS program to do this would be helpful. (I am not writing the program since I don't know any languages but a guy down the hall said he'd be nice enough to help...)

I do know that we are using a pretty standard pin configuration.
2-9 are outputs
19-22 are grounds
(no inputs needed and ther rest of the pins are not used.)

Thanks for any help
Dave

This might prove helpful:

I haven't done any port programming, but the idea seems very useful. One could effectively build a nice controller application for several pieces of external electronics. I might have to look into this.

Gooud Luck,

Thanks RobRich. I did see that site and got alot of good info there. Not all the info I need though so far... I may have another recourse besides programming the LPT port. I am not sure yet though.
Thanks
Dave

Actually, thanks for bringing that site up again b/c after looking at it again, I missed the info that I was looking for... Thanks RobRich. That should be enough info now. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
