I strongly suggest you use fat 32. that way, if you have to boot up witha boot disk, you won't be screwed.

Fat32 is faster. NTFS is required if you need to have security at the file level (like for a network file server).

i have my win2k partition formatted as NTFS because for the simple reason is i dont want win98 (while i have it) to see that i have another OS. i first installed win2k on fat32 and 98 had a fit when i booted into it. so that is my reasoning.it will be the devil to remove but i cannot imagine why i would need to....

If you're just messing around, go with FAT32.

If you're trying to learn it for work or for your MCSE, then you'll need NTFS to be able to work with all the security features.

i have win me on my first hard drive(fat32) and win2000 on my second hard drive(ntfs), with a dual boot set to 1 second, with win me as the default. this way my girlfriend can't poke around on my side of the computer and for all intense purposes she doesn't even know there is win2000 on the computer, because win me can't read ntfs http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif
