I've been toying with the idea of using an old microwave fan in the place of your standard case fan. My idea is to use some type of ducting to run the output of the fan into my case. I'm hoping that will dramatically increase the air flow in my case.
Anybody have an opinion before I over inflate my case?

make sure you use the insulated (coated) ducting, unless you like to see sparks fly in your computer.
also, buy a 12 pack of earplugs. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Why not just run with the cover off? And if need be, have a small fan (about $10.00 US) blowing on the CPU and/or video card. Any real computer tech doesn't have the case cover on anyway(just kidding, just kidding).
case cover... oh yeah, that thing thats holding up a stack of books. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
actually i put in one of those slot fans so that i could put the case cover back on and hear stuff around my computer (amazing!). works great. 32cfm and very quiet.
Just got a Comair-Rotron Flight LT CR0812UB-A71GL from Newark Electronics. ATX case fan size 3.15"sq x 1" thick. 50 CFM about $12.
Not yet installed, but in free air it sure doesn't suck! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Hmmmm...
I like having my cover in place, it helps to keep all of the bad stuff on the outside where it belongs.
50 cfm @ $12.00, I think I may just have to look at that one.
Thanx...Paul
