I'm using Slackware's Zipslack 2.1 kernel or so, on a simulated root since I can't afford another hard drive or the repartioner software. I've heard there's a free linux quake, like there is for windows, but I can't seem to find it. Anyone know one that will work? (Probably not the right place to post this but I'm giving it a whirl)

I don't think the game is free; you still need to have the pak files and other stuff that come with the game. However, I do believe the binaries and libraries are available for free. Check out www.linuxquake.com (http://www.linuxquake.com) for more info.
