Im beguining to think we need a new forum here called "just trash to build up my count"
a large number of posts lately by a very few people would fit this catagory, only require a couple xx's or periods to count. would waste a lot less space.

I hate adding to something that could potentially be explosive (you know how people can get). But it does seem there are just members here that post the most off topic thread or just post something to start a huge irrelevent conversation about NOTHING. It's fun every once and a while, but when that becomes your full time purpose here, well.. (especially when some of us claim to have such busy busy lives)

If you want to post something completely off topic, why dont you (meaning anyone who wants to) go to a site with a real off topic forum? Anandtech has an honestly very interesting one to peruse through. I am glad Sysopt doesnt have one. Keeps the riff raff out.

I agree totally. Just to name a few:
how many here think drinking is good for you
Is this true?
and
who need fast computer anyway
Notice all three of those are by one user...who has stated he will not be returning. Thank gawd. When I see new posts, I look to see who is posting it. If I see the name of three or four other people, I just ignore them and don't even bother to open the thread.

what brought me to this is, I am an old guy (76)who really doesn't know that much about comps. but with the help of folks on a couple forums have learned enough to build my own, when I have a problem, there is always some one there to offer a hand, which I think is the real purpose of this forum. I wish to thank every one who has answered my questions. I hope this purpose is not devalued.

As long as it stays out of the specific forums and in the general one, I think it can be tolerated.

My 7 year old sister could be more mature on these forums than some of the others who have been on here lately.

I am completely opposite than any of these people.. I agonize over every post, to make it perfect. In my opinion, your posts make up what people think of you on these boards.

alondra,
and the others that support this post. you might want to read this before you take this topic any futher. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/005865.html

alot of the members don't feel as you and the rest do. so, that is why I just overlook some of them and go on down the list to the others.

I mean, I and the rest of us ever once in a while post a stupid one. but, that is just to break the string of things.

and please no bad comments on this one. I was just stateing the facts at hand and doing a reply to this post.
