Seriously I am kind of mad...
Here is the story...my mom went off with AT&T to change phone plans(including internet) from the Verison DSL to that AT&T broadband. She later cancelled it cause we discovered it was that satillie internet service that was only like 300K down. So we cancel the installation and AT&T still disconnects our phone line and later the dsl. At this point the house is completely quiet with me sitting on the couch watching tv(something I never do) because......well...no phone or dsl....so there was NO way to get online. Anyhoo I finally got my dsl back from Verison then I discover that I probably won't be able to get my email address back. The joel.pcnerd@gte.net one. Well I'm hopeing when they give me an account that I can still put the @gte.net(gte doens't exsit anymore thanks to verison)because when I had that email I could put @verison.net and it would still work. So i'm hoping i could get my old email addy back. If I can't are my dnet stats toast? http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif I'm hopeing for the best here...
Nice job everyone.... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Randy is over there slacking off with his cracking again. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif j/k

Joel your question is one that I have also, I am changing my ISP so my e-mail address will change as well. Why can't we just use the old address for tracking purposes even though it will not be good anymore and is there a way to change it at Dnet?

You should try contacting verison (via your old provider's office or tech support) and see if you could get access to the old mailbox and then retire your account to your new email addy.

todd: you can merge old accounts to your current one using the "retire" feature at D'net.

I'm working on getting my old email back. I really doubt I will get it back. But a happy costumer means a lot to them.....I hope. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif We'll see.

But wait! Let's see if they will even give me an email... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Gosh I hate dealing with these companies. They are so big so they think they can run all over you...
Imma go over to the verizon headquarters here in Irving and demand an email if I have to. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif

All you guys have to do is e-mail help@distributed.net and request to retire one address and start a new one and have the blocks merged. Virus can also do the same for you on the stats server...but you have to ask!

Hey thanks Randy!
Do I just email them saying to merge my old email with my new one? Do I need to know my passwords in order to merge them? I can't find my pass for the dnet thing and somehow I can't get into Virus's stats because it says my password is incorrect. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif
If I can get this all worked out I'll be adding a dual celeron 500. Yes I'm finally entering the SMP computing world. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Why not just use a web based E-mail? You know, like hotmail.

Yes, just let them know you are retiring/losing your old e-mail address, you shouldn't need your password.

Yeah Jad I'm gonna do that. I have a yahoo email that I'm gonna use. Should I go ahead and start using that one and merge them together? I haven't had my old dnet email in over a month. Thanks for the help guys.

Oh can anyone tell me how many blocks a dual 500 celeron can crack(under win2k)? I can't get into my computer archive thing so I can't see for myself. Thanks.

Well the idiot that sold me the bp6 and the celerons hasn't contacted me so if he does I'm gonna tell him to screw the sale because it's already been 4 days! I'm not going to buy anything from someone who takes 4 days to ask for payment. I've even email him. He has aol. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif So when he gets online he knows if he has mail. Oh and I'm ready to have a little talk with him on AOL IM. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Looks like I'll be buying me a MSI K7T and a duron 750. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif This will be another 1gigger. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif
