One of my machines had a hic-up I guess, and now I'm getting this message when trying to access the buff-out.rc5 file:

dnetc v2.8010-463-CTR-00071214 for Win32 (WindowsNT 5.0).
Please provide the *entire* version descriptor when submitting bug reports.

[Apr 29 22:32:14 UTC] Buffer is locked. Waiting (at most) 10 seconds...
[Apr 29 22:32:25 UTC] Open failed for 'C:\Program Files\distributed.net\buf ...
Timeout waiting for buffer unlock.
[Apr 29 22:32:25 UTC] Buffer seek/read error. Partial packet discarded.

I renamed the buff-out file to .bak, restarted the client, and everything's working smoothly, but how can I salvage what work has already been done, (in the now named buff-out.bak file)?
I've already tried copying the file to a floppy, renaming it back to buff-out.rc5, and importing it to another machine, but still get the same "buffer is locked" message.
I've looked on DNet's FAQ's but unless I've missed it, didn't find how to recover the completed blocks.

Thanks in advance,
ThiemeMD

open a DOS window, go to the dnet directory and at the command prompt type in:

dnetc -forceunlock this should open it up, but make sure to rename the current buff file!

Also while you're at the command prompt, type in: dnetc --help this will show you all the built in utility files hidden inside the client! Some pretty good stuff in there http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

Ahh... That did it! Thanks for the help Randy!

I flushed all current blocks, renamed my .bak file back to .rc5, did as you instructed, and flushed again, and it worked smoothly...

Thanks again...
