I know everyone has been posting about GRC (http://www.grc.com/), and I use it for testing purposes as well. I have also found another site for extreme security testing. It called HackerWhacker (http://www.hackerwhacker.com).

It's free scan will scan ~1400 TCP ports, NetBIOS ports, and ~800 UDP ports. They also offer complete 65,000+ port scanning, but you will have to pay a subscription fee for that service.

Any rate, here are my results (minus all ip data! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif):

PortScan (http://www.angelfire.com/tn/PlanetMinako/scan.htm)

These results were achieved by using both Conseal PC FireWall (with custom ruleset) and ZoneLab's ZoneAlarm (all security features at high). I you find that GRC lacks in thoroughness, try HackerWhacker (their name sounds stupid! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif).

Catch ya' later,
Robert Richmond

i work in the IT dept at school and we were warned about users going to this site and getting freaked out about the responses they would get. see, we need to leave some windows networking ability for the electronic medical education curriculum. everyone is now worried about the "viruses" on the internet. i just say don't run any weird apps.

OK, I ran the "Hacker Whacker" tests and here are my results:

Of the ports searched, none were found open.

No Netbios Information Available *SAFE*

Your Computer is too well protected for UDP scanning. This means hackers cannot scan your machine and you are SAFE regarding UDP.

I have NO PROTECTION PROGRAMS running on my system NONE. I am on a cable connection, how am I so protected?

Went there a month or so ago. I got a Level 99 hit on BID with HackerWhacker... that kind of freaked me out http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/redface.gif It's a good firewall test, that's for sure.

I think it's time I check it out - again.
