Congrates, I just started and only have two PC running, but hoping to get more. I have a feeling it's going to take awhile, expecially if I don't get more PCs.

PIII 450@558, and PIII 800

Just wondering how many and what type of systems you have running

http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/biggrin.gif I bought a "new" mini herd today http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/biggrin.gif I saw an ad in the local trader magazine, someone was selling an AS400 with 8 terminals for $100 (one hundred dollars)! I made the call from work and he still had it.Drove down to Joel K's part of the world and picked it up. The guy even through a bonus...an older AS400, all the manuals, software, etc, etc, etc http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/biggrin.gif His company went out of business and other problems, just wanted it gone http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/biggrin.gif Guess what Randy's doing this weekend...oops the wife has to work toooooo http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

Not a lot.

It's a RISC machine, and a slow one at that (since it's old).

I'm not a fan of AS400s at all. Sure, I'd use them over a mainframe, but programming them can be a DOG. I messed around with RPG programming a bit in a class, and it's definitely ancient stuff. I'm guessing they may have a C compiler somewhere, but the prof didn't know a thing other than what IBM shoves down, and I didn't (and don't) care enough to check.

Joel, I think borland released a version of Delphi for the AS400. That would be far more productive than a RPG or C++ compiler.

Well, the as400s won't be cracking for me! Found someone that needed them more then I did and got rid of them...made 300 http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif Guess I'll have to break down and get started on my new air conditioned box...have the spare cash to build the case now http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif
