At work, i am redoing alot of PCs by formatting the HDs and the reinstalling windows 95c. Today, i have run into the problem that some of the files on the CD are bad or do not get coppied over to the HD upon installation. Is it normal for files on a CD to go bad after the use that i have put it through? I have used this CD on about 10 or so PCs.

I'll assume that the cd isn't scratched or damaged in any way... Then I would say that you have another problem, maybe with the cd rom drive or with the drive / bios setup.
CD's generally don't go bad that way.

some of my daughters games that she plays alot of have had the same thing happen to them and they become unusable..not the whole cd but just parts like in candyland she can now only play a single game because when she tries two players it will lock up everytime and we have tried the same cd on every computer in the house with the same results and cleaning them does no good...there are others that have had parts of the game go bad but that is the best example I could give..I have also had cd that I burned have parts go 'bad' so it can happen and for all my searching I can find no remedy,,even tried toothpaste which is the fix it all for cd's with n o luck

in short yes they can go bad or rather 'parts' of them can go bad

I have had music cds go bad on me. They osmetimes do wear out, i would assum the laser does do a little bit of damage each time you use the cd.

I don't think the cd could really be damaged by normal use. The laser power is not sufficient to change the surface topology of the cd which is how the data is stored. If it is a copied version on CDr or so then possibly but only after extreem amounts of use. Has the Cd been left next to anything hot or in direct sunlight or anything, that could certainly stop it working properly.
if the CD is actually bad can't you contact the manufcaturer and get a replacement. After all you paid for the licence to use the software not for the cd itself?!?

Small scratches on the label side of a CD could cause these problems, and be very hard to find.
