hi i got problem, a friend of mine burned music cd's for me on Verbatim CD-R's and everytime i play it on my Panasonic SL-S360 Portable cd player it stops. I cannot even pause it right, it keeps on going!
when i play other cd's on it its fine. i noticed that the Verbatim cd-r's have a darker surface coating then the Sony CD-R(which works fine on my portable cd player). what could be causing it? the dark surface coating of the Verbatim?

It's probably the CD-R. Some brands just don't work well for audio. I haven't been able to get a Kodak gold CD-R to work in any audio CD player yet, short of a Playstation. For audio I've had the best luck with Memorex and Pacific Digital.

I've had good luck with Maxell brand as well.

It might be that when he burned it he did disk at once (DAO) and it writes all the tracks in a continious write which may have eliminated the gaps in the audio making the cd player think it is all one track though I'm not 100% sure on this...anyone else?.
