EDIT - oops http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif this was meant to be a reply to the K6 - 2 vs Celeron Topic.
Ill start a debate http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
I have a mate running K6-2 450(that i set up) and i am running a Celeron 433 (well, was) and i dont know if u guys are but i am a gamer and so is my mate, we dont give a **** about numbers in some pc scoring thingy. All they are are game shows for computer guts, and hence, are unimportant and boring http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
Both of these systems are just set up stock standard. with win98 se
1 - the K6- 2 had much trouble with heat even with a recomended h/s and fan in a big mother of a ATX case, but my celly ran fine.
2 - The celeron was much smoother, the K6-2 was locking up often and gets choppy http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
We then overclocked our pc's and put in a - thermal paste b - bigger heatsinks/fans.
1 - My celly 433 ran fine at 500 and the K6-2 450 could not be o/clocked at all stabely.
Also - when the K6 - 2 stated to bugger we tried switching every component (cept floppy and cd)and the one that fixed the prob was new type of cpu.
Thank you for your time http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
