I leave my daughters machine on for rc5 and last night I thought I would try safe mode..This morning when I checked it it was doing 1.03m/keys as opposed to 982k/keys..not bad..havent tried it with my Athlon but will tonight and see how it goes

How do you intentionally put it in safe mode?

you have to either hit F8 starting right after POST, or right Shift.

Codybear, pretty cool! I just tried the safe mode thing on my little 380 laptop Win98SE and here's the results:
Normal= 1 RC5 packet @7:19 minutes
Safe Mode= 1 RC5 packet @6:23 minutes
56 seconds faster.
Too bad it's the only thing running Windows that I have!

well my Athlon went from 3.41m/keys to 3.46m/keys last night.
