Right, first of all I just wanna compare and get tips.

My 3dmark2000 score is 1557, I think this is a bit low, can anyone see any obvious mistakes???

I have a K6-3 400, Voodoo 3 3000, 192mb PC100 RAM, Motherboard with 2meg onboard cache, UDMA 66 20.5gb HDD partitioned into 3 roughly equal drives, err think thats it as far as 3dmark 2000 goes. As I have a Hollywood plus DVD card, SB Live Value, SCSI card, Modem, Network Card etc.

Is 1557 about right, or should I expect more, what will this score go up to with my Cel2 566 @ 850, when they actually reach the UK???

(EDIT) This score was obtained at 1024x768 resolution (EDIT)

Cheers in Advance,

Lee.

I don't know, but you score seems like it's about normal.

My K6-2/300 with a v770/tnt2, 192mb ram scored about 1000-1100 max.

My new Athlon/500 with the same TNT2 & 192mb ram score 2700-2800.

Coco, run the DEFAULT benchmark...don't run it at specific (higher) resolutions because if others are using their resolution of choice also then trying to compare the score is just a waste of time.

Outpatient,

That was the default benchmark that 3dmark2000 runs.

That was quite a step up in terms of score from your 300m to your Athlon 500 http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

3DMark2000's default test runs at 1024/768. Try to run it at 800/600 and see what you get. Sounds like it should be higher.
Width: 800
Height: 600
Depth: 16-Bit
Buffering: Triple
Z-Buffering: 16-Bit
Refresh Rate: VSync Off
Texture Format: 16-Bit
Pentium III 450
RESULTS
Platform: Internal
3DMark Result: 2656 3D marks
MY PENTIUM III 450 DOESN'T SCORE HIGH EITHER...

Hey Outpatient,

How come you score so high with an Athlon 500????

I got a 650, with a tnt2 running at 180-210, 256Mb Infineon ram and 2 7200rpm 18.2Gb Fireballs!!!!

And my score is always around 2900/3000!!!

Do you know what could be causing this???

Pim

I have no idea...I just built this Athlon and got it running yesterday.

Athlon/500 (not overclocked)
Abit KA7 m/b (using 100mhz bus)
192mb pc100ram (generic running at 100mhz)
v770/tnt2 (non ultra, o/c to 166/177)
nvidia 3.84 drivers (I think)

and to be specific, my score is 2786. Is mine high? or yours low?

Don't know if it helps, but mine is at 3722. I'm not running at 1024 x 768 though. I'm at 1152 x 864. I would have thought that the higher the resolution, the lower the score?
Details;
Athlon 750 @ 787mhz
Matrox G400 Max
256mb pc133 ram
Asus K7V m/b
2940 u2w scsi card
9.2gb ultra scsi
4.2gb ultra scsi
3c905 nic
Sound Blaster Live Value
HP scsi cd burner

Ok, now this is cool. Just starting to take some baby steps overclocking my A/500. For starters, I've upped the FSB to 105mhz(/210mhz) which makes the CPU 525mhz. Just that little boost did this to my 3DMark score:

2917 (of course this is the default 1024/16bit)

hmmm, I'm using generic ram too. Surprising.

Anyone know the best drivers I should be using for a v770/tnt2 Athlon combo?
