Hey guys,
Suppose I would wanna crack rc5 on a pc, which is not on the internet and not on a lan, how would I do this???
Okay, I'd have to install the client on the machine, but how do I get the blocks on that pc???
And when it is finished, how do I get it back on the pc which is on the net, so that one can dump the blocks???
And where would I put it then, so it would indeed dump those blocks too???
Thanks in advance.

Request blocks by sending an email to fetch@distributed.net with the line
numblocks=999
in the message body. Copy the buff-in.rc5 file to the standalone cow. When it's out of blocks copy the buff-out.rc5 file to a net machine and email it as an attachment to flush@distributed.net. Repeat if necessary

But how do I know then that they will be dumped on my name???
Should I put my own email address somewhere too???
If this is gonna work, I am very happy Randal, for then I'll have some extra cows too, being:
Coppermine 733 flipchip
Coppermine 667 slot 1
Coppermine 600 flipchip
athlon 600 2 times
PIII 450
and a k6-2 550Mhz
That should give me some extra power, right???
They will be cracking for about 12 to 13 hours a day, doing nothing else but that.

When you install the client you set the email address they crack under, buffer files don't affect which address they crack under.

Okay,
Thanks Randal, ya really helped me out here.
I won't be able to catch up on ya, but maybe the gap widens less quick now. LOL
What was the link again where I can check how many blocks I would get with those cpu's???
I know it was somewhere on Anandtech, but don't remember the exact link.

I wouldn't do it that way...For fetching, yes, but if you flush that way, they won't be counted on the proxy. Instead I'd transfer the buffout to a machine with net access configured to send to the proxy, and when you start the client, send the blocks. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Woohhoooo, they are cracking away now.
Both athlon 600's run at 2.1Mkeys, the k6-2 550 at 990Kkeys, coppermine 600 runs 1.7Mkeys, the 667 runs 1.98Mkeys and the 733 runs at 2.2Mkeys.
And the katmai 450 runs 1.3Mkeys.
So that would be somewhere around 12Mkeys for these and the 3Mkeys I get at home, making 15Mkeys in total.
Sounds pretty good to me.LOL

Despite the loss of a few thousand blocks, I still managed to get me some extra today.
Check it out, just the beginning tho:
