I been to a place called office depot
I was buying these refill ink for my HP
and he said buy new one because it is sloppy and that I may ruin my printer.
I told him I'll think about so I walk around in a circle for awhile.
But new one is so expensive!!!
I'm trying to save some money.
What da ya think eh?
Does anyone here have HP, Lexmark, etc
and have a success are refilling
cartridge.
Can it be refilled indefinitely until
printhead is dead say up to 10 times http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Here I just ordered 55 buck worth of refill ink for my printer HP932C http://www.ldproducts.com/
They got everything including Lexmark Z11,Z31,Z51
Good price and good shipping for over 50 buck
FREE SHIPPING

Some say refilling is sloppy and messy?!
Is this true?!

Yes refilling an ink jet cartridge is messy, no matter how careful you are, and the ink isn't always the same shade as with genuine replacements, I have done it in the past, but I won't do it again. If you can afford it, you are better off buying a replacement cartridge.

And...by buying a new cartridge, you will also be replacing the print head each time.
If you are interested in quality printing, then buy a genuine cartridge.

Buy a new cartridge, it will save you, and your printer a lot of trouble. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

I will refill a cartridge now and then, but I'd never refill it more than once.. After that, the heads will wear out, and quality will suffer.

It's not THAT messy. I've been refilling my tanks for about 5 years and after 18 months, the print heads wear out and I need new ones, but I still save. I buy factory Canon ink in bulk from someone. I get 40 black refills of the smaller one(21E) or 10 of the bigger tank(BC 20) and 15 of each colour refills. You need to use a syringe that's at least 5cc's, not that refiller thing they give you at the store. I must have saved a few hundred $$$'s using refills. Not sure if you can get factory HP ink in bulk though.

always buy a new cartridge, even though it's expensive, it will save you having to replace that nice white shirt you have http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif or even staining connectors on the cartridge. ALWAYS buy the GENIUNE or ORIGINAL manufacturer's ink, not 3rd party inks. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Here another question for ya
if they dont want you to refill it
then why is there a hole on the bottom of my cartridge with rubber patch on it.
3 of them on my color ink.
1 on black
so 18month eh?
or depend how often you print stuff right?
could be more 3years - 5years down the road.

I'm thinking of refilling my lexmark 5700 too. The price they charge for new cartriges is rediculus!!!! I won't buy a Lexmark again just for that reason. At least the black one as print quality isn't so important.

You might want to check out your Warranty conditions before you refill either inkjets or laser toner cartridges. We have had to explain to a few clients that their warranties are voided due to refills.

still under warranty
because the printhead on the cartridge
if you screw up just buy a new cartridge
nothing to lose and alot more to gain
by at least 10 fold ^_^

I never had a problem re-filling a cartrige. Eventually the heads go but usually you can get at least 2 refills on them.my kids use an hp printer which is a pain the catrisges are expensive and finicky.

My current printer a xerox xj6c has seperate tanks from the printhead so I dont worry much. I like it cause i use mostly black and cyan ink.

Rex, check this out. http://www.ldproducts.com/news.html

Admanus: There is no "warranty" on printer cartridges/heads, unless you meant the actual printer. I tried to complain that my first ink head died in less than 6 months (before I started to use refills) and they said "no warranties because it mostly depends on usage."

Win98: Yup, depends on how much ya use it. I just printed out mainly eports/essays with the odd photo. Refills don't last as long as new carts either (I guess the hole you drill makes it evaporate?) But if you print lots, it'll probably run out from printing first http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gifCanon recommends that you use all the ink within 6 months to ensure print quality anyway. You still save though.

I had a friend of mine refill mine and, what a mess! They leaked all over inside my desk drawer (in upright position).

Print quality sucks, colors are off. Need I say more?

Refills are the way to go. I buy two refills then replace the cartrige, last me 6 to 9 months(about 10 or 12 refills). I also agree that a seringe is the way to refill but they are not always easy to get for some. Yes they are a bit messy but you learn to be careful, always have a couple of rags handy(use rubber gloves if you like) and set the cartrige one several pieces of paper to absorb the ink. I also let them sit for at least a 1/2 hour to make sure their is no drip.
Voids the warrenty my ***! I am sure glad I do not have to deal with people who do not know how to read!

If you are hesitant about refilling an ink catrtrige yourself but want more affordable cartriges you can visit here.
http://www.angelfire.com/sc2/inklink/

These are good 3rd party cartriges. I've ordered a few for IBM and xerox printers.

It all depend where you buy from
some inkjet refiller are ****
because they leak all over due to low quality
if you pay more for refiller for better quality one there is no leak and ink is better too.
dont look for real cheap one or
real expensive one
the one that sell for 13-16 is a good deal
for 25-30 for 3 refill is a bit much
who need that much anyway.
