my Athlon now at 1000MHZ will do 3.24 m/keys and the celeron sitting right next to it clocked at 950MHZ will only do 2.59 m/keys

You should be able to get over3.4MKeys/sec with that. Thats around what I get.
Are you sure your running the latest client, and have no processor intensive apps running in the background?

I have nothing running now that would impeed the performance of the client and yes it is the newest but still only 3.35m/keys

actual clock is 991MHZ so maybe that little difference is where the keys are??

Run the short benchmark. The client will take full processor priority. If thats what you have been doing, the 9MHz must have a greater effect that you'd think.

Still though, you at least have an Athlon; I burnt out 2, and replacements haven't come yet. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif

I'm getting 3.4mkeys/sec on my 1000Mhz Athlon as well.

I ran the short benchmark and it comes out to 3.43m/keys but on a long run with nothing else running under w2k it will only crack at 3.34 m/keys

why??

its now at 1003 but anything more and it locks tight..I'm right on the edge of stable and lock and so far its stable
