Does the Client work ok on Win2000?

I can't seem to get the dnet client to run on Win2000. Is there a different version I need or what?

Out, I personally run the gui client (436) and it works just fine under win2k but it will not support some of the newwer "special" contests that dnet might toss in, But I'm dedicated to RC5 so I dont care http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif. I can email it to you if you want it.

I have installed the client on the following OS with 0 problems: Linux, Win95, Win 3.1, Win98, Win98SE, Win ME, Win2k.

Are you sure you don't have the Alpha version of the client?

um, this is version 458.

1. I haven't reinstalled it since the upgrade to Win2k (last night). Will reinstalling it really make a difference?

2. Should I try version 460?

The really strange thing is this, my CPU usage goes up to 100% just as if the client is running, but I have it in quiet mode so I don't see it, and when I open the Task Manager it's not visible there either.

ok, reinstalled it and that seems to have done the trick. Although I don't think it was necessary. I just realized that in Win2k the task manager doesn't show all that's running unless you go to the "process" tab. There I found dnetc.exe running, shut it down, and started it again with -noquiet switch to see if it's running ok...and it is.
