I just sold 4 of the computers that I had sitting here doing rc5 for me....I will miss the numbers but I'm sure the money will bring more satisfaction than the numbers and at least they got me into the top 10 http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif once..something that I have tried to do for most of the past 10 months http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Ouch that hurts. That will really impact your crunching http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif I need to get me another system. Right now it's just my p3 coppermine 650 and an old pentium 133 that takes about 4 hours to crunch one packet. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif Yeah it makes me laugh too. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif I need to get my Celeron 533A started. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

I have a 133 and 2 166's...every little bit helps..every system that comes into the house and every build crunches untill they leave and are uninstalled...even the ones I fix crunch untill they are ready to pick up..
Missing the point

with the 533's you will have a monster or a kitty or so it seems from all the reviews..good luck with it...the snowman has a monster(around 996mhz I believe) and more than one other person here has also gotton similiar results and then there are those who cant get it up past 600 with any board or ram combo

That's what i want! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif I'm trying to get the money for it. If i get this celeron 533a(overclocked of course) then i'll have 2 good computers.

I finally got my second system running, and ready to be plugged into my little network!!
It is a k6-2 450 on a p5a-b, with 64Mb pc133.
It is running 450@518 now(4.5x115), so it should crunch away just fine.
But I'm looking for a third system, which I decided will be a Celeron 400, slot 1 version.
Since I already had the cpu, and the mobo I can get for a reasonable price, so....
I'll be clocking that baby too ofcourse, so that should stack up some packets, don't ya think??!!
An athlon 650 with 256Mb pc100
A k6-2 450@518 with 64Mb pc133
A celeron 400@??? with 64Mb pc100, I think!!
Nice!!!!

I think the celery 'monster vs. kitty' deb8 can be explained by this:
The monster will be the 0.18 micron celron 2 (or celermine, as they're soemtimes called). These are based on the new coppermine P3 and will do ~800MHz+
The kitty will be the 0.25 micron celeron 'a' (which is essentially the same core as the good ol' 300A). These will not go much above 600MHz.
