Seconded. He isn't a bad bloke at all. I saw a previous comment about Alan & Ceedee sharing the same IP number - I will personally vouch for them being two seperate people, they are friends so I presume they were on the same comp or something.

I've seen Ceedee on another board and he isn't a bad bloke. Sometimes we all get carried away doing things, not to mention names or anything http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif but there was someone who impersonated somebody on another board, he was acquitted of his crimes, and someone else from the Netherlands(Fred Flintstone?) was acquitted too.

Just 2 examples - and they both learned from their mistakes and have been great since.

I've chatted to WTF on ICQ a few times - he has a genuine thirst for knowledge and I think he should be given a second chance.

I guess I'm risking a bit here by saying what comes next, but these two have been punished for posting useless posts if I'm not mistaken. Didnt this board have a thread about "What colour shall I have my next Porsche?" and "How messy is your room?" - with picures?

I will gladly take anythinmg back if it has offended anyone.

OK I am only posting this as questions have been asked that deserve an answer..
1.I only started using multiple names ie son of ceedee etc because my original name was banned and my ip frozen from sysopt
2.Alan and I do not have the same i.p address PERIOD.
3.Silverdisk is the only name i use that does not have ceedee in the name.any new members who have posted are not me..
4.As i said in my "private" message to sysopt I was having problems with my e-mail at the time so could not e-mail them.
5.As i said before i will not post to this forum again,unless people ask questions that deserve a response.I hope that you dont mind if i read the board however as i do find it interesting

As one of the older citizens of the USA, I must note that sometimes the most intelligent people have ways of pissing off people that they come in contact with. Several times my observations of "obnoxious" employees have revealed merely over-energitic, zealous brilliant minds having trouble fitting into public life. Am I the only one that's sick of hearing about these guys?

Am I the only one that's confident that an administration that has successfully founded the best board on the net can handle this little situation successfully in there own way and in a way that will prove best for the board? The truth is I don't really care if they allowed back or not…..or sooner or later. I don't like them or dislike them...I just like the board, and they took away from it. Both of them had many chances to mend they ways. They were both warned several times and were given a lot of slack. I don't think they are being "punished" unfairly.

Ceedee was banned, and yet he's back as "SilverDisk". Did he ask permission or has he continued in his ways once again by not respecting the board?

Once again, I don't really care how this situation is handled, as that's the admin's job. I think people should just go on helping and learning through sysopt, and not concern themselves with this. I don't think these two members should be worth all the threads and posts about them...hopefully they'll prove me wrong sometime in the future with valuble contributions to sysopt.

i don't think ceedee should be in right now, wtF should be in since he was banned longer, ceedee should have a certain time before he can go in, not right ahead. 2 months or 1 month like wtf is how much he should pay. sorry, but it's not fair you know. It appears that no action is needed on our part. Ceedee decided to let himself back in, using a proxy server no doubt, and a new name. Ceedee: your accounts were closed for a reason, you were no longer welcome here. They were not closed for you to create new accounts. As stated in a previous message, we never ban anyone permanently, and always request that any user who has decided to change their ways, email us about it rather than trying to subvert our decision.

It would be quite simple for us to shut down your silverdisk account and every other one you create in the future if we so choose. If you can manage to "behave" with the silverdisk account you may maintain it, but we will not hesitate to shut it and any future accounts down for disruptions of this message board.

wtf emailed me daily. The emails generally went something like, "please, I beg you, let me back into the site!!", and that was pretty much it. I suggested other bulletin boards that he might like to try that perhaps are less sticklers for professional/mature protocol.

You people are really starting to **** me off. wtp and alan particularly. We're talking about TWO very disruptive members here, and one of the dozens of hardware message boards on the net. If you guys think it's so great, ask yourselves WHY. We strive for greatness here, as do our 8,000+ members. Not to mention the hundreds of thousands of others who visit this board but choose not to post. I'm not going to allow this site to be dragged down with, "waaaa that's not fair, I want user X to be reinstated", or "waa, but he said this, or he said that" BS posts.

I go away for the weekend, and I would have hoped this issue had been dropped. No offense to sysopt, but this is getting rather anooying to see all this getting dragged up all the time and I wish these threads would be closed immediatly.

accept the fact that you were banned. Sysopt is not the end of the world, and your life will go on.
