edit figured out the right jumpers. I've gotta troubleshoot more before I start asking http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif hehe. thx though Dave
well my grandma lives in this retirement home and the old people their have like nothing to do. So I figured that since many can't drive or leave the retirement home a computer to surf the net would be pretty cool. Well I've already built my grandma a PC with some mix and match parts I bought and had left over. Anyways I figured I'd build one for the retirement living room. My cousin gave me old Pentium 100 and mobo and I've got all the parts and everything is working great except for my old 14.4 modem that I put in. I've got an old PCTEL HSP software modem but this thing is utter **** with nearly 100% packet loss when I've used it. Anyways I don't think I can use a garbage software modem on a pentium 100. Back to this 14.4 modem. It is a Cardinal 14.4 with jumpers and I had it in an old 486 but I don't have the manual for jumpers. This is a non PNP modem so I installed it about 9 years ago and have totally forgotten how to get it working again. So would anyone have any info on this and how to get it working. any advice/urls would be greatly appreciated. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
