I'm wondering, think I should drop tweakit.com off of the d.net team name? Tweakit hasn't been updated since March '99 and some sections were last updated in, gulp, 1997. Dan is a valuable member of the team but it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me to maintain the name since tweakit seems to be a thing of the past.

Personally, I think we need to see what's up with tweakit (Chadwick, no?).
i would think that would be the "nice" thing to do.

I'd say contact Dan and see what's up.
I know, it's getting old, and the BBS isn't even Y2K compliant http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif , but lets see if he is planning any updates soon.

I originaly joined the team through tweakit, so I think we should at least talk to Dan. If nothing else, keep it out of sentimental value.

I have tried to contact him many times in the past and never receive a reply. My reasoning is this: if Tweakit isn't updated at all, and hasn't been since March 1999, it is really not good for SysOpt to be associated with Tweakit, because then SysOpt gets lumped into that "the good 'ole sites of yesteryear" category. I am working very very hard to turn this site into a sharky, tom, anand type (in terms of content frequency, not content type) daily updated place, and any kind of negative image is not good.
And BTW, I'd love to have Dan write articles for SysOpt, if he had time. He's a good guy and very knowledgeable.

Yeah, I'd agree with scott, though I'd say it differently... our team name needs a little 'tweaking' done.

It ain't cool to forget fallen teammates, regardless of reason. Maybe Mr. Chadwick is too **** embarrassed over the fall and decline of TweakIt.com to want to comment anymore. He just keeps putting out a large % of our blocks.
Speaking of large % of our team blocks-
Where have our heavy hitters gone?
mysonscool@aol.com- gone.
vvarnell@home.com- seemingly gone.
8 MILLION RC5 blocks between these two.
And a bunch more with 300K-500K total blocks.
I joined this team because of TweakIt, and very possibly might make a decision to leave based on a name change. It ain't right.

If my memory is correct, mysontoocool@hotmail.com was appeared during sysopt internal rc5 contest. He's probably someone temporarily switched to sysop rc5 team with a new email address to get free prize. Unfortunately, he didn't get any of 3 prize even he had near 50% output of the whole team at that time. Deeply discouraged, he quit and remained as a mystery. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

My opinion, it should be left as is.
Tweakit.com still exists and Mr. Chadwick has been a large contributor to the team effort and continues to support it with processed blocks. Just because Tweakit has not been updated is no reflection on SysOpt. The content and format of SysOpt will have to stand on it's own merits.
People should be rewarded for effort. It's the right thing to do. I've never been a Tweakit person but that doesn't matter. Leaving the team name as is: that's the right thing to do.

I was just comparing some of the proxy stats VS. D'net's stats.
What a sh*tty thing, theskipster@home.com only got credited for 1/3 of his/her dump! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

Izzy, he/she could've dumped a lot of randoms.. that's one possible explanation.

Yeah, I agree.
Still trips me out though, 1/3!

who is vvarnell@home.com anyways?? Why doesn't someone who kicks so much rc5 rear hang out in cool forums like these??

I also joined this team because of tweakit and would really not want it taken out of the team name. I don't think I would go as far as joining another team, but others will.
At least 20% maybe more of the team is made up of tweakit members. Most of them are in the top 20. I know of a few heavy hitters that don't even visit this site. Take tweakit out of the team name and they will join another team.
This team should be for the users. Not for Sysopt's image. I will be keeping Tweakit.com in the team name on the pproxy stat pages.

I've seen that there are alot of loyal Tweakit members, and I sure would not want to see the team split over removing tweakit from the team's name.

Izzy, they were unfortunatly almost all random blocks prob 400 or so were not. They were left on two computers at work that I forgot about. I almost decided to just upload them straight to dnet so as to keep the proxy a little closer to dnet's but that darn green upward pointing arrow convinved me otherwise :-)
I have put fresh blocks back on the comps, so the next one should take them all!

Oh yeah, to actually be on topic-- Keep the Tweak-it.com part of our name. I signed up under sysopt, but sysopt/tweakit is who we are. We are a team of both.

Hi all, sorry I haven't been around, but I do check in once in a while. I have to say I am deeply moved at some of the responses and show of support. Will Tweakit be back, you bet, just not today. Like many things in life I have had to place it on the back burner, but my passion remains and as soon as I can get a handle of this thing call life, I will be back. Till then, you do what you need to do Scott. I will continue to support the team reguardless and I ask the rest of you to do the same. It is not about the name, but what we are doing that counts.
Take care friends,
Dan
