Catch me if you dare! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Nothing better than a bit of healthy competition. I've only got 2 puters cracking away now.. (Celery 466 and 400).

All the best!

I am cracking rc5 on my University's computers. I guess it is ok since I administer them and I asked myself first. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
If one of the School's computers were to crack the code, I would donate the money to the school to buy a new computer with.

Jeeze!!!! I can't even think about keeping up with you now let alone passing!!!

I personally wont go near the University's network or PC's. Their policy is very strict regarding the use of the network for ANYTHING which has even a remote possibility of profit for a student. Last semester 2 of the other grad students were expelled for posting a link to a "free" dial-up ISP. As it turned out they were to recieve some insignificant financial gain for each referral...peanuts I'm sure compared to the penalty!! With the possibility of $1000 in the case of this contest they probably wouldn't even call a meeting, I'd just be packing my bags!!

Likewise; I administer the machines here. I would have to seek permission first; but they always let me have what I want!

What kind of keyrate would 50 PIIs @ 500MHz give?

Probably about 60-70 MKey/s roughly... assuming they were running 24/7 with no screen savers.
