"I now have dsl. So now i use outlook express. When i get into it it doesn't ask me for my password for my account so i can read my mail. It just goes straight into it. I guess windows remembers my password and logs in automatically. I don't want it to do this. I want it to ask me for my password each time i get into it. I don't want people who have access to my computer to be able to read my mail."

Sorry guys i fixed it. It was so simple. I'm sorry i posted for this problem. I feel bad. But i'll say how i did it just incase someone else wants to know and can do a search. I went into tools/ accounts/ mail tab/then picked my mail server/ went to server tab/ and unchecked remember password.

I apoligize for this post that was unnessesary. I guess i should of worked at it a little more.

Joel,
Although the way you did it will prompt for a password to connect to the account and download new messages, someone could still read all your "old" or stored mail.
You may want to try this.
In OE, go to File/Identities/Manage Identities/Properties. There you can set a password that will be required to be used to get into OE it'self. If you choose to do it this way, change back the setting on the accounts properties and let it remember that password again, so you don't have to input a password twice.
Hope that helps.
Dave

I tried that but it doesn't ask for the password. Do i need to restart my system? Any ideas. Hey and thanks for the tip. I had just realized that i could still read my old mail.

When you get to properties, under "manage identities" there is a box there "require password" as soon as you click the box, a password screen should pop up. After you put the password in twice and click "O.K." it should be set. After that next time you try to open OE, it will prompt for a password.
Don't think that you need to re-boot, closing then re-opening OE should be enough.

Hmmmm, I just re-read your post, if your doing the above and don't get a password box, perhaps were using different versions.
I'm doing this on OE 5.01, I'm not sure if previous versions allow this feature. I did see your reply earlier, but wanted to make sure on my home system that is only using one identity at this time.
