You're gonna love this!!

I've got a Dual-PIII 500MHz system with 256MB RAM at my disposal now! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif It's a server on a college LAN and it cracks RC5 at a *phenominal* rate!!

However, it's not got an internet routable IP.. (172.21.2.110) so I can't get packets in the normal way and my only alternative is e-mail.

I'd really like this system to show up in Virus' proxy stats; but I can't see how I can achieve that short of carting blocks around on a floppy.

Can this be achieved?

All the best,
Ollie

Unless regulations prohibit it, all you need to do is have 1 workstation with internet access. Set the modem lurk feature off so you can control download/uploads. Start client on workstation from same directory as server, connect to internet to upload/download. That's what I do for my systems works fine.

Otherwise, the floppy method does work. A floppy will hold approximately 45,000 processed blocks. Just be sure to name the buff-out.rc5 something else, such as buff-out.1 and COPY, not move, to the floppy. Then, when the blocks are safely at D.Net, you can erase the buff-out.1 file. It will automatically make a new buff-out.rc5. I use this procedure on my secondary system.

Hope this helps.

I did want to setup a personal proxy on one of the multihomed servers (172.21 and real addresses), but this was not condoned by the administrators.

Looks like floppy is the way to go http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif
