Here's mine: http://www.geocities.com/jeffd78.geo/computer.jpg seti 03-16-2000, 11:29 AM I'm sorry to say that doesn't compare http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif. I'll have to load a pic up when I get my digi-cam back tonight. JeffD78 03-16-2000, 11:55 AM Bring it on!!! I need some pictures to show my wife when she calls the above a pigstye(sp). Joel Kleppinger 03-16-2000, 02:19 PM Here's a rare pic so enjoy it ya'll... this is why it's not a good idea to sleep and work in the same room. Hopefully, that won't last much longer though. But here it is (and now you can show your wife what being messy REALLY is http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif). I'm cleaning it today (and probably tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day, and... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif) so it won't look like this much longer (I hope - I'm going nuts) Enough waiting already... enjoy (or cringe, depending on how mess-sensitive you are - you have been warned) http://home.earthlink.net/~jkleppinger/room.jpg [This message has been edited by Joel Kleppinger (edited 03-16-2000).] jl123 03-16-2000, 02:28 PM WOW this pic acually makes me feel better about my room when it gets messy. Just get rid of some of the trash and it won't be as bad. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif ~Joel(jl123) seti 03-16-2000, 02:46 PM I'm not exactly sure what that is.....but if I threw a couple photoshop filters at it, I bet it could turn out kinda......oh wait, I see something familiar....DTT2500's. Ohhhhhhhh, it's computer desk.....I see it now. It's like one of those hidden 3d pictures where you just have to stare at it long enough. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif haha Toadman 03-16-2000, 02:48 PM Woohoo! Bring in the Skip-Loader! [This message has been edited by narayan (edited 03-16-2000).] Joel Kleppinger 03-16-2000, 06:19 PM I spose I ought to do some explaining on it. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif 1. The item in the lower left is a UPS delivery notice, not a sandwich. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif 2. Upper left is my car mp3 player in progress - that light green thing (barely visible) is the LCD panel for it. 3. I can get 3 people in the room, but no more. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif (4 if you count the bathroom.. where the picture was taken from http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif) 4. All the monitors and keyboards you see are always hooked up to something. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif 5. The left side of the big CD stand is for PC CD-ROMs and the right is for music. The barely visible CDs on the floor are music (what the new CD stand is for) 6. Yes, that is a 20GB 7200 rpm Maxtor HD box. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Thank you Staples for that $117 deal. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif Give me a few days, and we'll work on some "after" pics. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif socalgal 03-16-2000, 06:55 PM LOLOL.... a true wunderkind http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif Ed_S 03-16-2000, 07:29 PM Joel, I've seen worse - but not often! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif Jeff, yours looks great compared to mine, too. I keep the room walkable, but barely sometimes. Can't post pics of my mess, since it's actually in three rooms. Been doing this as a hobby since '83, and stuff accumulates. Sure wish I could get pics of a friends comp area. He's a worse packrat than I am (if possible). There's room to stand only in his comp room. No chair. You walk through stacks of cases, new & old, full & empty. Unbelievable, you'd have to see it! Ed desmocat 03-16-2000, 08:21 PM Eureka!! I have made the connection! computers are junk magnets! Does any other device seem to attract things like this? Maybe star trek was right, and we are seeing the beginnings of V ger. That bald chick was pretty hot http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif welsh wizard 03-16-2000, 08:54 PM Hey Joel nice to see some one else does the same trick and leaves the hard drive cover plate off the system to aid cooling http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif WW Mr Twobit 03-16-2000, 08:57 PM Thank you SO much for the photos!!! Spanky 03-22-2000, 08:41 AM HEHE Loving those messy pics and REALLY loving the view out of the office in your pic SYSOPT. I don't have a pic cause I still need a digital camera. But I have a description that might get a laugh out of some of you. Me and my roomate share one computer. its on an old desk thats too low. The monitor is on a raised platform with a speaker to each side. Its all a huge mess. To the right is the computer. Standing on a large tool box to get it off the ground. To its right is an oven. Its a REALLY small apartment. On hte computer is a plate bowl and fork. A solder iron stand and iron. A blank CDR and 2 coke cans on top of that and some gum wrapers. On the platform with the monitor is some more coke cans, All kinds of junk. a cordless phone base behind it all. Some medication. My roomates ashtray. On top of my monitor is my joystick and a cd. One of those huge lighted Magnifying glasses on an arm is bolted to the table and hanging over the back of the monitor to keep it out of the way to the right of the raised platform is some garbage. Chip bags, more coke cans, all kinds of dirty dishes. my roomys bong, 3ds max book. the keyboard and intelli mouse (best mouse i have ever owned) sit under the raised platform. The seat is a rapidly dying milk crate with an old couch cushion on top. THe comptuer has the sides off for easy access. and the arm rest to the left is the back of the couch. Hows that for a picture. BTW its probly messier loooking then you think. and we are an add for Coke. with all the emptys. Wiz 03-22-2000, 11:55 AM socalgal, do i see cigarettes there?? bkehoe 03-22-2000, 01:19 PM I took a few images as my digital camera doesn't have a wide enough lens. Also took a pic of the view from the window. Dualeron & some boxes (instead of wallpaper): http://www.techgear.net/images/room/1.jpg A look at Athlon 800, and yes, that is a K7M with an Athlon in it on the bench: http://www.techgear.net/images/room/2.jpg Desk where I put everything when my father isn't around, and also the shelves: http://www.techgear.net/images/room/3.jpg Finally, a view out of the windows (camera seems to have focused on garden though: http://www.techgear.net/images/room/view.jpg P.S. I knew we'd get a pic of Socalgal eventually! I see you sitting on the shelf in front of the books! socalgal 03-23-2000, 09:02 AM lol! Richamies, no making fun of my Y2K Bug from The Pickel!! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif Amarok 03-23-2000, 03:16 PM I like that desk there socalgal, it looks like it would work nice for me.... hmmm now all i have to do is find a door. BTW I had a lamp just like yours until the switch fried and decided to pour out smoke and a few flames.... not a fun day. jl123 03-23-2000, 05:04 PM Hey socalgal i have a computer case like yours(the one to the left). A MMG by Hard Warehouse?????? Well i just thought i would share with everyone http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif I thought i was the only person to have a case like that. ~Joel(jl123) Wiz 03-23-2000, 05:42 PM I'd take a pic of my desktop and scan it, but i'm in the middle of my painting the case project, and it looks kinda messy right now jadison 03-23-2000, 06:14 PM yeah, I spray painted my ol case gold on one side, flat black on the other side and misty gold on the top. It's a 8 year old case so I thought I'd give it a makeover, hehe I hope to get an IN-WIN mid tower case by my B-day (May 31) (I won't be spray painting that one though!) I'll post a pic as soon as I get one of the digi cameras my school provides -jd- socalgal 03-23-2000, 06:25 PM Thanks, Amarok http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif jl123 - I have not a clue what the make of the case is.. it's an old AT case that I bought used about 3 years ago. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif The materials (door, Melamine shelving, hardware - Home Depot), including the Norwegian Alder lateral file cab (Office Depot - assembly required), totaled ±$175 and the guy who put it all together only took $100 from me http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif so for a strong, large, functional workstation (earthquake resistant - this thing is solid!) I think I got a pretty good deal! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Unfortunately, my Snoopy dog-dog card wasn't in that pic when I snapped it. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif BBA 03-23-2000, 07:39 PM Hmmm....guess I'll just have to clean up a bit and snap one for yall. We want to see the Real Deal! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif JeffD78 03-24-2000, 09:54 AM Yeah BBA, I asked for messes, not cleaned up ones. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif mgordon99 03-24-2000, 11:05 AM Ok here is mine, yes I am cramped for space, taking up half the bedroom. http://www.zbzoom.net/~mgordon/workspace.jpg smurfin 03-24-2000, 11:11 AM Cool movie Seti, glad for my T1, only a few seconds. I have that exact same background loaded! But not very messy at all. Mine is neat but only because my wife will hurt me if I don't keep it that way. As for Joel. Man, my wife would boil you alive! How do you get away with that? I would pay for the secret as I can't seem to take anything apart without a sour look. Plus my baby is into computers so she keeps sticking tools inside the open cases just like daddy. Kinda scary. Butler 03-26-2000, 03:14 PM Well, here's mine...it was cleaned up about a week ago. The first pic is my desk, the second is all the stuff that USED to ALSO be on my desk until the cleanup project last week.
