Internet Explorer problems

You know how when you right-click on a picture to save it on your HD. Well, I used to be able to save it as a .jpg, .gif, etc... but now my only options are .gif and .bmp. Why? Did I forget to install something on my last re-install?

That same thing happend to me, except I can only save to .bmp and I know the original is a jpeg. Whats going on?

You guys have the option to "save as" those types with MS Paint?
I just put together a new system and half way thru loading all my software, noticed I was missing the options for .jpeg and .gif.
I searched MS and found this but it had to do with "Picture It".

I happen to have the program Picture It but am positive something else messed up the graphic filters before installing it. I followed the instructions and got back my .jpeg option but am still missing .gif (removing and re-installing paint didn't work).
Hope that gives a clue, and that someone can help with a way to get back these file types.

I, too, have only the options of bmp or gif. I just save it and then change it in either Adobe or IrfanView (http://members.home.com/rsimmons/irfanview/english.htm).
