I've got to know what OS that could be. I racked my brain and couldn't think of anything that shouldn't already be detected. It just seems downright weird. /forum/smile.gif

And 2000 blocks is a healthy chunk of blocks... I wanna know what OS this is. /forum/smile.gif

Figured it out. It's bkehoe (match up rc5@distributed.net on the pproxy to the "unknown OS"). I'm betting it's just because he's using a beta client. It's still pretty weird. /forum/smile.gif

Hey Joel wouldn't it be cool to see what it would report if I ran the client in softwindows on my O2?

I would try it except that I don't know if I would be alive after it finished a block to send in. It is slow enough as it is <g>.

I'd bet that it would report Win9x/NT because you'd be using a Win32 client. At least, that's my guess. /forum/smile.gif

Was me. /forum/frown.gif

It's very strange about what happened. I filed a bugzilla report, but maybe it is in some was a 'feature' of the new client to send the unsuspecting users blocks to rc5@distributed.net ! /forum/smile.gif

I noticed that my proxy was complaining about an unknown os and client version when the client was sending blocks to it, which unfortunatly went to d.net. /forum/frown.gif

Anyway, I'm back on v 444 of the client now..

For the doubling of client version, that happened about 2-3 months ago, I think. I kinda wondered what happened, but I didn't worry about it. I just figured that it got corrupted or something. Besides, it makes a Linux client look like it's in #4 of all currently contributing clients. /forum/wink.gif

Awwww.. too bad. I suppose it had to happen sometime - the sorrow of getting big. /forum/smile.gif

Ok, Ok blame me for everything, hehe
I'm using bthom70@yahoo.com and have been a voyuer of sorts when I started RC5.
Just havent seen the need to post anything, and most of you guys or gals tend to voice enough questions and answers to keep me going.
But the only thing I can say is, I did use the beta client for 1/2 day on my home pc and didnt like the rate or configuration.
I uploaded those cracked blocks with my old client one I removed the beta and reinstalled the old client, were those blocks meaningless or did I corrupt the pproxy, with the inferior beta-cracked blocks?

When you were sending to the rc5@distributed.net address. It was reporting your OS as 0, cpu as 0, and client version as 6400.

I am also getting strange version numbers from bthom70@yahoo.com. It says he is using clients 6401 and 8001.

I also noticed that in the version stats. There are doubles of a few versions.

Also because of yesterday, the stats take more then a half an hour to complete. So I have had to set it to only update every hour.
