Well I was fearing the day that radcon, tazzzman, and the other top 5 members would start joining. Since they like to dump large amounts of blocks at once. But the server is handling it well. I am not saying go and start and dumping 20000 blocks at a time, but anything under 10000 would be fine. Anything over 10000, dump over a few days or dump it at a d.net keyserver (especially vvarnell@home.com with his 45000 blocks a day).

What I am fearing now is going over my monthly cap. I got a monthly cap of 3Gb with a .2 cents (CDN) per meg after. Now presently we are doing 40Mb at 20000 blocks a day.

40Mb * 30 days = 1200Mb.

That is still far from cap, but there is still a lot of growth left. Our whole team averages 160000 blocks a day. Which would be...

320Mb a day * 30 days = 9600Mb = $132 overcharge

So I have to find a solution before I max out my connection. Here are the options.

Get a DSL line
-No cap
-256K down
-64K to 128K up (depending on which modem I get)
-Need static IP($50/m extra) or DynaIP
-Everyone will have to change their settings.

Modify the ppstats script to read from more then one PProxy server.
-Not sure if it is possible.
-Will need about 2 or more ppl with DSL/Cable/ISDN/T3
-Not all will need to change their settings

Move the PProxy to a capless line
-Need to find someone will atlest a 64K line.
-Or move it to one of our stores DSL lines with little traffic.
-They all ready not too hip about me using there machines for rc5.
-Everyone will have to change their settings.

Close the stats page down
-Not an option.

The ppstats script is presently taking 23 sec to update.

As for you overclockers out there I got my Celeron 366 up to 550/2.2v and ws able to play 20min of a DVD movie before freeing. This was right after runnning it 24hr/day at 413/2.0v. I am going to start working on liquid cooling it this weekend. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

What's happened to everyone (especially the top 5). Maybe i scared everyone with my 3Gb max fears, but that won't become a problem until next month. I am all ready close to a solution. So if you got the blocks domp them. Unless you have over 10000 blocks, then dump like 9500 of them to the pproxy and the rest to the d.net keyserver. I need some competition. I don't deserve first position with the small amount of computers I am running.

Well, I just made the change on the 3 machines here that I have running rc5 to the PProxy. It's probably not as much competition as you want (P3 450, Celeron 450, K6-2 300), but I suppose it's a start. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Oh, and all of those machines aren't overclocked to their top (though the Celeron is a 300A. Once I figure out how to cool the room properly, I can take the P3 to at least 558, the Celeron to 504 (I can get it to boot to windows at 517, but then it crashes in Windows), and the K6-2 may be able to hit 350. But my room is at about 82-83 degrees and everything is far less stable than my previous location at 70-72 degrees. (both those temps are guesses (especially the current temp), but are fairly close)

Anyways, that's enough rambling... Go SYSOPT/TWEAKIT!! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

This is just a question since I do not know all of the details about the personal proxy and how it is set up, so please do NOT flame me for asking.

How are the bolcks defined compared to the way that Distributed.Net defines them in the standings?

For at least the last two days that I have noticed, the number of blocks recorded in the personal proxy is significantly MORE than the number of blocks reported in Distributed.Net. Yesterday I completed 1070 blocks in the proxy but Distributed reported that I only completed 900 blocks. Where are the missing blocks going, or are they "defined" differently?

Sorry for the confusion, I got my self mixed up there originally.

The opposite has been happening for me, I had 699 on the pproxy yesterday and only 654 at distributed.net...

Maybe it's the time that the servers update and count for the new day!?

I know. I was down 400+ on D.net yesterday. When usually I am 100 or so blocks above my PProxy score (I still can't find that last computer http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif). I think D.net is screwing up. It has happened in the past.

It could be a difference in the time they are updated. D.net should update itself at 0:00 GM time just like the PProxy. Unless it gets postponed maybe a half hour during it's two hour long updates. But that doesn't explain me being off 400 blocks when I keep my dumping small and evenly spread out.

This is really strange, I stopped using the personal proxy yesterday. I was hitting 890 to 970 block using the PProxy and today I have 1135 blocks reported today in D.Net

I wonder if somebody has been "skimming" blocks from the people using the personal proxy and reporting them under their name?

I smell a rotten fish in Denmark......LOL

Is it possible, hell ya. Is it easy, hell no. Inflating PProxy stats is easy (don't worry I won't stoop that low http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif). Intercepting submitted blocks then decrypting and modifying the info and then encrypting for each one before they are sent out to the keyserver is almost impossible. The PProxies out cache is flushed around every 10 mins.

Now if I had a 1/4 of a million dollar Deepcracker. I could decode the blocks before they are flushed to the keyserver. But that kinda defeats the purpose. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

If everything is working properly and on time. The only thing that could cause inflated PProxy stats is the fact that it can't detect duplicate blocks. But 80% duplicate blocks per day is way to high.

You have got a right to complain. But the problem lies with the D.net keyservers or the PProxy software. Not me.

Virus:

Don't take it so seriously man, I was only stirring up the pot. Nothing personal.

I have turned off the PProxy on my 3 machines and went back to using the D.Net server. I just don't see any reason to use the PProxy.

I think what VIRUS has done is great! It's nice to be thought of so fondly VIRUS. LOL
I currently have 4 300A's overclocked to 450, 2 dual 300A systems overclocked to 450,1 dual 300A system overclocked to 375, and 1 dual 333 overclocked to 500. I will probably add a couple more of my 300A's overclocked to 450 by the end of the week. I hope this will give you a run for your money without costing you any by going over your limit. Maybe on your stats I can finally beat Radocon. I upgraded many of the computers that he is using from unspeakably low speeds to at least 450. Boy did that put the nail in the coffin for me. Thanks again VIRUS.

I also think that he is doing a great job!!

Well taz u will be able to finally get in front of me. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Although u never know when i might start dumping 9500 a day for 10 days in arow either lol.

Frag u later

Thanks Tazzzman and Radocon. Just for that you can dump upto 20000 blocks a day. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif I don't think there will be that much more growth anyways. Anand's pproxy/stats is only getting 300,000 of there 430,000 blocks they do a day. That's after 70 days of being in service. I don't even think we'll reach 50%.

Sterling_Aug - No harm done. A little http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif will go a long way. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Also I setup a message board off of the stats page for public beta testing.

24.72.9.177/msgs/index.php3 (http://24.72.9.177/msgs/index.php3)

It's not ment to replace the wonderful sysopt board. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif It's just a means for me to test it out, without having to write to myself all day. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
