We only have five members that have joined. We need some stiffer competition. Even if you setup only one machine to test out the waters. It will help show that there is some interest in the team still.

As for how the stat box and connection are holding up. The server isn't even getting a load on it. It 's still doing 425k/s that's 98% compared to zero traffic (85% compared to a clean install). I had one report of a faulure to connect to the ftp server. But that may have been during one of those freak 2700 block flushes. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif I haven't had any problems sending blocks. I've only had the page not loadup a few times. But that 's normal going from Sympatico to the Shaw backbone. The script execution is up to 8 sec (a far cry from anandtechs 1/2hr).

I've ordered a Celeron 366 with a BM6 mobo. It will be hosting the stats page while the K6-2 will just run the pproxy and ftp. It should be here friday. I still want to mirror the pproxy and stats page, but I will have to see if I can get the script to read from two logs files then create two sets of html.

Goto 24.72.9.177 (http://24.72.9.177) for the stats.

Change your rc5des software to send to 24.72.9.177 with port 8080 to join.

That's Virus to you. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Competition is always a good thing. It's what keeps the interest in D.net alive. I wish there was more competition. I'm going to feel kinda bad having to pass you later today. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif In a few more days i'll have that new overclocked celeron in my arsenal. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Whenever I see you dump 2700 block. All I can think is "Ouch, my poor server." http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Hey, If you pass me later today, cool. But you never know when I may be able to flush another 2700. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I'll try to be nice next time. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Hi,

Long time since last update, ehh?

I am in an internet cafe in Kissimmee, near Orlando - T1 line!

Airport security destroyed my data on the laptop, so I am here just after downloading the internet file.

See you soon - maybe 2 hrs,
Brendan.

izzzy12k - I passed you for two hours today. But you dumped some horse shoes out of your ***. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif It seems this will take longer then I thought.

My real goal is to break the 2000 block mark before the new Celeron comes. I found some more computers that weren't running D.net anymore so hopefully I will make it by 1 or 2 block (boy would that be funny to see).

bkehoe - Setup D.net on that computer. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Too bad about the laptop. Did they force you to put it threw those x-ray (or whatever) machines. Or did you forget about it.

You obviously have more PC's working than I do...
But I was not going to go down without a least a little resistance. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Hi,
Just set up. Phone line in condo isn't good enought for net, but they let me use one of the office lines so it will be tomorrow when I reply to all mails.

Will have a few blocks done fo the new proxy. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif 266K6 is my laptop's processor.

I've just got a Savage 4, 32MB RAM, Creative labs - more info on web site www.bkehoe.com (http://www.bkehoe.com)

Hi all,
I have changed all of my weekend cracking farm over to use the new pproxy server. We will see how it holds up over the weekend.

So you must be jflythe. The one who is going to end the rein of Virus. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

You said weekend cracking farm, didn't you? So the beating will stop as soon as monday comes. O'Joy. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

You wouldn't be that same guy with the whole school system of 1500 computers working for you?

So how would we do it if we need to go through a firewall? I can only do HTTP tunneling.

During the week I average about 10mkey/sec. On the weekend I turn on the client in the Engineering and QA Lab at the place that I work at. I don't work for a school system, I work at a software company.

DougM - Not a problem with proxies. All you have to do is set the client's local proxy settings. So you enter your proxies (firewall) IP, the port it uses (most likely 80), and set it to HTTP tunneling (HTTP for CLI ver.). It would be the same as sending to a D.net keyserver. Then follow the directions on the bottom of the stats page 24.72.9.177 (http://24.72.9.177) .

Josh - It was someone else. I think his alias was Joel or something.

Not this Joel http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Well, I do have some school computers (not sure exactly, but my keyrate would be about 12 MKey/s less if it weren't for them), but nowhere near 1500. I should be able to get about 80 Celeron 400s up sometime beginning next September (can't wait to see myself break 50 MKey/s on a regular basis http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif ).

I think the 1500 computers guy was Jeff (at least on Tweakit). Haven't heard from him in a few months so I'm supposing that whole thing fell through.

I think it was Jeff. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I might be getting a job with the local school board soon. But no where near 1500 computers. Maybe 250.

BTW, what happened to all the compus that you had working for you in the begining.

Well, other than my 3 PCs here, those were all computer Lab PCs, and since school is basically not in session (except for summer school), they only keep a very small portion of their labs up. I typically had a 30 MKey/s keyrate, and I've since dropped to 10-15 MKey/s (total). Hopefully, I'll still have the access in the fall to add the client to all the new Celerons, but we'll see in time.
