I'm the network admin for a small college. Is there anyway to set the client software to be password protected, or locked down in some way so the students can't mess with the settings?

As long as the user does not have write access the ini file on the server. Just an idea. -Izzzy12k [This message has been edited by izzzy12k (edited 04-27-99).] augidog 04-27-1999, 02:03 PM this is probably not necessary but please, please, PLEASE make sure you have permission to run the client. i understand there is a way to hide the working client on workstations... www.distributed.net/FAQ/ (http://www.distributed.net/FAQ/) looking forward to hearing you're "in". izzzy12k 04-27-1999, 02:22 PM You can hide the client, but those "power users" may, and more than likely will find it. And then they will change the e-mail on it or just tear it up. izzzy12k cwizard 04-28-1999, 01:15 AM What type of network are you running? Different types have different setup options. augidog 04-28-1999, 04:03 PM way to go, EricSchmitt! are you joining the team? tell us about the PC's you're using. EricSchmitt 04-29-1999, 01:25 AM Thanks all, but I finally got it working. I just ran it command line in the startup files. Thanks for the help though SysOpt.com
